"Boric Acid is a safe and economical option for women with recurrent or chronic vaginal infections, especially when conventional treatment is not effective." J Womens Health (Larchmt). 2011 Aug;20(8):1245-55. doin: 10.1089/jhw.2010.2708. Epub 2011 Jul 20".

There is direct correspondence between the foods we eat and maintaining a healthy pH balance:

Obstetrician and Gynecologist Sherry A. Ross explained in an interview with The Daily Mail why food can alter the odors emitted from the vagina. According to the nutritionist, a pH imbalance can bring upon "bad" bacteria growth, which in turn can develop irritation, odor, and infections such as bacterial vaginosis - the most common vaginal infection for menstruating women.

"The pH balance is an important factor in maintaining vaginal health," Ross told the publication DailyMailUK, Feb.2019

According to Lisa De Fazio, a registered dietitian nutritionist. "A high-fat diet, particularly saturated fat like on the keto diet, increases vaginal pH and therefore increases the risk of bacterial vaginosis."

A vagina should have a pH level between 3.8 and 4.5, which means it is moderately acidic, De Fazio said, pointing out it can vary slightly based on your stage of life.

"An acidic vaginal environment is protective. It creates a barrier that prevents unhealthy bacteria and yeast from multiplying too quickly and causing infection." Any other changes, like rashes, abnormal discharge, or an unpleasant itch, should be mentioned to a medical professional. It turns out that drastically changing your diet can affect your body in more ways than weight loss. A high pH level can provide the perfect environment for unhealthy bacteria to multiply and spread. Rachel Murphy, INSIDER, Mar. 26, 2019.
